I am currently 5 1/2 months pregnant and stressed out to the max at work. I have a job where I do MULTIPLE jobs and to top it off my boss’ daughter hit my car last week (she’s 16) and now they are telling the ins. company that it wasn’t her fault and are trying to get me to pay for my car damages. So I have the stress of my job and I have to deal with this stress and I have to work with both of them (that were involved with my accident) and it’s really uncomfortable in my workplace. Is there anything that I can do? I want to quit but I can’t b/c I’m pregnant and will have no income. Please help me?? I’m trapped.
I have a live in boyfriend and he makes good money but I think that would cause more stress with him having to pay the mortgage, utilities, cell phones, car payments, car ins ect
Thanks for all the advice. I know he would support me but it’s just so stressful thinking about the money struggles with my bills. And I do not know any employers that would hire a girl thats 5 1/2 months pregnant. so how would I get any income?
her father, the doctor i work for, told the ins com0pany that it wasn’t her fault, but this is her 2nd or 3rd time backing into somebody. but daddy gives her what she wants and she does no wrong. I have pregnancy medicaid so it’s not the ins. it’s the no income that worries me b/c of car payments, student loans, cell phones ect.

Oh no! How horrible that you’re going through crapola like this! I’d say stick it out until maternity leave kicks in, then start looking for another job for after the baby is born. Or you could start looking for another job now and hope you get lucky, but if insurance coverage will be an issue I’d wait. I know that it’s illegal not to hire a woman based on the fact that she’s pregnant, but many companies will find other "reasons" not to hire you so they won’t get in legal trouble. If your boyfriend absolutely cannot handle the temporary strain of being the sole breadwinner if you quit before finding another job, try to stick it out as long as it’s not endangering your pregnancy.
And how in the heck is it not the 16-year-old’s fault???? Who’s telling the insurance company that it’s not the kid’s fault- her parents or the police report or someone else? That kind of crap makes me mad!
Do you have someone like a husband to support you? Try working a less stressful job until after the baby is born.
Oh my goodness girl! You need to stop working, before you go into early labour.
When you’re swimming up-stream without a goal … then you’re doomed to die like a salmon.
I think it’s fate that you should quit your job and seek employment elsewhere … even being a homemaker is a noble profession … you’re boyfriend should see the nobility in it if you do.
Certainly, you may have to give up expensive cell phones, tv services, and downgrade your living environment … but isn’t it worth it to keep your sanity and the safety of the baby?
I am almost 19 weeks pregnant and I am in a very stressful job. I think you have just got to do what you need to for you and your baby. You don’t need the added stress when your pregnant. I am seeking advice at the moment of what I can do. Citizen advice is a good place to start. Good Luck =)
